Product Description: Letrozole (brand name Letroxyl) is an oral non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that has been introduced for the adjuvant treatment of hormonally-responsive carcinoma.
Estrogens are made by the conversion of androgens through the activity of the aromatase accelerator. Letrozole blocks production of estrogens during this means by competitive, reversible binding to the protoheme of its haemoprotein P450 unit.
